It was wonderful being there for the game on Monday night. Unfortunately
we had to get back home so my son could get to school at a decent hour. We
left at the bottom of the 12th inning.
The electricity on the stands was incredible. When you have
48 thousand plus fans yelling at the top of their longs for their team to win
it makes you feel alive.
We lucked out getting tickets for the 7th in
history tie breaker game. We ended up sitting way, way at the top, but even
from up there the view was great.
It was wonderful to see Matt Holliday get the top hitter and
top RBI spot. It was great to see Troy Tulowitzki do its magic. It was sad not
being able to see Todd Helton connect for a home run from the 9th
inning on. It would had been great and well deserved to see him win the game.
But you know what, it was a team effort and a lot of people pulled it off, not
just one person.
There were many disappointed moments. The biggest one being
the ball that hit the top of the back fence and it was called a double. Now, I
didn’t see the replay so I can’t say by my own eyes that it was a home run, but
I gathered from what I hear it was a home run. They had 6 umps on the field.
One of them should had been able to see it right. Now what they played over and
over was the last run scored. Did Matt Holliday touch the bag? Darn right he
did. And if he didn’t then the other play was for sure a home run.
Anyway, today will be the first game of the playoff. I hope they do
as well.
